In 2019, the overseas photovoltaic market boomed, and Talesun Photovoltaic continued to strengthen its presence in Belgium, Argentina, France, the United States, Germany, and other regions, expanding its international market share, consolidating its market position, and achieving outstanding results.

The largest photovoltaic power plant in Western European countries

Over the more than seven years since entering the European market, Talesun has established strong business relationships with numerous large EPC firms across Europe. In June 2019, the largest photovoltaic project in Western Europe, connected to the grid in Belgium, marked a major breakthrough for Talesun PV in the European market. In July 2019, Talesun supplied France’s energy giant ENGIE with its 99.5 MW photovoltaic power plant project in Belgium. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate approximately 85 million kWh of electricity annually, offsetting roughly 140,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

A New Milestone in China–Arab Strategic Relations: the Largest Photovoltaic Project in All of South America

In expanding into the South American market, Talesun Photovoltaic has never slowed its pace. In October 2019, the 315 MW Guauchari photovoltaic power plant in Argentina, equipped with modules supplied by Talesun Photovoltaic, was completed—making it the largest PV project in the country and across all of South America. Located in Jujuy Province at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, the Guauchari plant will, once operational, help more than 60,000 Argentine households overcome electricity shortages. In a video address, Chinese Ambassador to Argentina Zou Xiaoli extended her congratulations on the completion ceremony, commending the strong cooperation and team spirit demonstrated by both China and Argentina throughout the project’s construction. Argentine President Mauricio Macri also sent his congratulations via video, celebrating the successful completion of the project.

Upgrading 2 GW of high-efficiency module production capacity in Thailand to capture the U.S. market.

To meet the surging demand from U.S. orders, Talesun Thai manufacturing base has accelerated its upgrade and transformation. In 2019, it successfully completed a capacity‑expansion project to increase output by 1.5 GW, with production lines fully compatible with bifacial modules and large‑format 166 mm cells. This upgrade not only expanded Talesun capacity for high‑efficiency photovoltaic products and elevated the company’s level of modernized production—significantly reducing manufacturing costs—but also further enhanced production efficiency and product quality, thereby markedly strengthening the company’s competitiveness in overseas PV markets. Currently, the company plans to continue expanding its Thai facility, aiming to reach a total capacity of 2 GW by the end of 2020.

At the Intersolar Europe trade show in Germany in May, Talesun booth was packed with visitors for three consecutive days, and its new products drew significant attention from customers.

In September, the Talesun booth at the Renewable Energy India exhibition in New Delhi drew a steady stream of visitors.

At the All Energy Australia exhibition in October, Talesun booth was bustling with visitors, as old and new friends enjoyed drinks together and discussed future collaboration plans in a relaxed atmosphere.

Focusing on technology, leading in science and innovation.

At the 2019 SNEC Exhibition, Talesun unveiled its BIPV PV‑W Hui series products, which seamlessly integrate architectural aesthetics with building design, enhancing overall building quality and offering customizable solutions to meet diverse customer needs. The company’s next‑generation PERC cell has achieved an average efficiency of 22.86% in mass‑production batches, with a peak single‑cell efficiency of 23.15%. Building on conventional PERC technology and incorporating Talesun proprietary core innovations, the cells deliver significant reductions in J0 through improved passivation and optimized doping processes. Optical performance is further enhanced via advanced front‑surface texturing and refined back‑side and electrode designs. Supported by theoretical simulations and extensive experimentation, the R&D team has successfully broken new ground in cell conversion efficiency.
