On October 20, the inaugural 2018 China Photovoltaic Industry Leadership Forum, themed “Leading Innovation and Empowering Transformation,” kicked off in Sihong, Jiangsu Province. Co-hosted by Zhongli Group, China General Nuclear Power Group, State Power Investment Corporation, and other organizations, the forum aims to focus on emerging global trends in photovoltaics, pioneer new approaches to green development, and build a platform to drive the energy transition while rallying diverse stakeholders to accelerate this transformation, thereby further strengthening the global influence of China’s photovoltaic industry. During the event, prestigious awards were presented, including the Top Ten Outstanding Suppliers in the Photovoltaic Industry for 2018, the Top Ten Innovative Enterprises in the Photovoltaic Industry for 2018, and the Top Ten Enterprises with Outstanding Contributions to the Photovoltaic Industry for 2018.

At this year’s forum, prestigious awards were presented, including the “Top 10 Outstanding Suppliers in the Photovoltaic Industry 2018,” the “Top 10 Innovative Enterprises in the Photovoltaic Industry 2018,” and the “Top 10 Enterprises with Outstanding Contributions to the Photovoltaic Industry 2018.” Thanks to its remarkable business achievements, exceptional operational performance, high‑quality products, and cutting‑edge technology, Talesun Photovoltaic was honored with the “Top 10 Enterprises with Outstanding Contributions to China’s Photovoltaic Industry 2018” award—well deserved indeed.
Founded in 2010, Talesun Photovoltaic has a total investment of RMB 5 billion. As a leading enterprise in the photovoltaic industry, Talesun Photovoltaic not only boasts advanced manufacturing technologies but also excels in production capacity. By the end of 2017, its annual production capacity had reached 4 GW of photovoltaic cells, 5 GW of photovoltaic modules, and 5 GW of aluminum alloy mounting structures.
Notably, just one day before the forum, Talesun Photovoltaic and Tongwei Group reached a strategic agreement to procure 1 GW of monocrystalline solar cells in 2019, with an additional 5 GW over the next two years. Sheng Hao, Vice President of Global PV Business at Talesun Photovoltaic, stated that the company will leverage this strategic partnership to further optimize its production capacity.
Efficient innovation, with brainstorming shaping the blueprint.
During the forum, a number of industry authorities gathered to engage in a roundtable discussion, examining the backdrop of the “531 New Policy,” which has triggered a brutal consolidation within the photovoltaic sector, accelerated the transition of solar power generation toward grid parity and market‑driven operations, led to a rapid phasing out of subsidy support, and underscored the urgent need to strengthen the role of market forces.
The roundtable forum invited Hong Wei, Director of the China Institute for Energy Economics and Special Observer to the Photovoltaic Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, to serve as the special moderator. Prominent guests—including Wang Bohua, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association; Shi Dinghuan, former Counselor to the State Council and President of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society; and Chen Bohan, President of Zhongli Group and Talesun Photovoltaic—also attended, engaging in an in-depth discussion on specific issues such as “What are the key factors driving the accelerated marketization of the photovoltaic industry?” and “What are the most pressing challenges that urgently require national support?” Through this exchange of ideas, they jointly sketched a promising vision for the future of the photovoltaic sector.
