In mid-March, the 2016 Spring Meeting of the SEMI China Photovoltaic Standards Technical Committee was successfully held at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Zhang Guangchun, Co-Chair of the Committee, and brought together over 120 core committee members and experts from nearly 50 companies and research institutes. As a silver sponsor of the event, Dr. Wei Qingzhu, Technical Director of Zhongli Talesun, attended the proceedings. The meeting was chaired by Co-Chairman Mr. Zhang Guangchun, and was attended by more than 120 core committee members and experts from nearly 50 companies and research institutes. As a silver sponsor of the event, Dr. Wei Qingzhu, Technical Director of Zhongli Talesun, also took part in the proceedings.
This conference presented an update on the status of SEMI’s existing standards and publicly released two new standards: one for polysilicon raw materials and another for testing methods for thin-film photovoltaic modules. SEMI (the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) is a global industry association; to date, it has established 23 standards committees and more than 200 working groups worldwide, contributing to the development of international industry standards.
At present, Zhongli Talesun has formulated two enterprise standards, participated in seven national standards and three SEMI standards, with several additional power‑plant standards currently under active development. Dr. Ni Zhichun, Vice President of Zhongli Talesun, stated:
First‑class companies set the standards, second‑class companies develop the technology, and third‑class companies manufacture the products. We will place even greater emphasis on building robust corporate standards, further enhancing our company’s visibility within the photovoltaic industry and strengthening our influence across the sector.
