This milestone follows the company’s earlier launches of the TWIINKLE bifacial module, the Feather lightweight module, and the new high-efficiency four-busbar module, and represents the culmination of years of dedicated product development, continuous innovation, and sustained market expansion by the company’s R&D team.
It is worth noting that the five‑busbar cell was first proposed in 2010 by the CSUN R&D team led by Dr. Zhao Jianhua and Dr. Wang Aihua, who had previously set the world record for laboratory conversion efficiency in P‑type solar cells. Dr. Ni Zhichun, Vice President of Zhongli Talesun, served as the project’s principal investigator. Building on the original CSUN five‑busbar cell, this new high‑efficiency version incorporates even more advanced innovations, notably the grid‑pattern technology—entirely developed with Zhongli Talesun proprietary intellectual property and protected by domestic and international invention patents—resulting in a clear technological differentiation from the earlier design.
Zhongli Talesun new high-efficiency five‑busbar module features a unique metallized busbar design, delivering lower series resistance and higher conversion efficiency. This significantly boosts the power output per unit area and effectively enhances overall module efficiency. By building on the existing four‑busbar cell technology—already achieving a mass‑production efficiency of 18.58%—this innovation further elevates production‑scale cell efficiency and markedly improves the yield rate of 270‑W output for 60‑cell polycrystalline silicon modules.
Dr. Ni Zhichun, Vice President of Zhongli Talesun, stated: “The successful production and rollout of our new high-efficiency five-busbar grid‑pattern solar module further enhances the company’s product portfolio. The product is expected to complete certification by year-end and be fully launched on the market. In recent months, Zhongli Talesun has been steadily introducing Bin (N‑type bifacial) modules and a range of other high‑efficiency products to meet customers’ diverse application needs as well as the requirements of China’s ‘Leading Runner’ program.”
