As a leading Chinese module manufacturer, Talesun Photovoltaic participated in the exhibition, and Mr. Ying Zhen, Vice President of Emerging Markets Sales at Talesun Photovoltaic, was invited to speak at the summit, sharing insights on module selection for large-scale utility‑scale solar power plants.
After outlining Talesun Photovoltaic’s overall profile, Mr. Ying Zhen shared insights from the company’s project portfolio, with a particular focus on the 335 MW photovoltaic power plant it developed in Jujuy Province, Argentina—the largest ground‑mounted solar facility currently operating in South America. The aim of this case study was to offer practical guidance and recommendations on module selection tailored to the region’s unique desert terrain and harsh climatic conditions. Mr. Ying also stated that the company will strengthen its distribution network across the Middle East and, building on this foundation, prioritize the development of medium- and large‑scale PV projects, especially those under an EPC contracting model.
Following his presentation, Mr. Ying Zhen addressed questions from the audience regarding Talesun module products. He emphasized that, since its inception, Talesun has been committed to delivering highly reliable products that earn customers’ trust. The company ensures material quality by collaborating with world‑class suppliers of raw materials and equipment, while continuously investing heavily in product research and development. Talesun prioritizes mass‑produced modules with the highest average efficiency and the highest module power output, rather than focusing solely on peak cell efficiency or peak module power. Currently, Talesun photovoltaic production lines are undergoing upgrades aimed at increasing the share of half‑cell modules and PERC monocrystalline modules, thereby aligning with market trends and meeting growing demand for high‑power modules.
The Middle East is predominantly characterized by tropical desert, Mediterranean, and temperate continental climates. Among these, the tropical desert climate is the most widespread and represents one of the optimal regions for solar energy utilization. Moreover, nearly all areas in the region enjoy exceptionally high levels of solar irradiance, providing highly favorable conditions for photovoltaic power generation. According to forecasts from analytical firms, by 2023, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates is expected to reach approximately 22.4 GW. However, the Middle East lacks a domestic PV manufacturing sector, with components and inverters almost entirely reliant on imports. This makes the region one of the most promising markets for Chinese photovoltaic companies. In the coming years, Talesun Photovoltaic will continue to invest in the Middle Eastern market, fostering the development of local PV industries and contributing to the early realization of a clean‑energy future.
