Recently, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the preliminary list of winners for the 21st China Patent Award. The patent “Method for Fabricating N-Type Bifacial Solar Cells” (ZL201610161758.2), owned by Suzhou Talesun Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd., was awarded the Excellence Prize in the China Patent Award.
The China Patent Award is the only government‑sponsored prize in China that evaluates and recognizes inventions granted patent protection. Its evaluation criteria emphasize the technological sophistication and innovative merit of the patented inventions, while also placing great importance on their practical application and market implementation. The award is recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of the United Nations. This time, Talesun Photovoltaic’s N‑type bifacial solar cell has won the award for its broad range of applications. By integrating next‑generation N‑type crystalline silicon bifacial technology with highly reliable double‑glass module encapsulation, the product delivers high power output, excellent reliability—free from light‑induced degradation and potential‑induced degradation—transparency, and bifacial power generation. Beyond conventional photovoltaic systems, it can be widely deployed in extreme environments such as deserts, high‑altitude cold regions, humid climates, areas with heavy snowfall, and regions prone to windblown sand, as well as in specialized applications like building‑integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). This significantly expands the scope of solar PV module utilization, boosts the adoption of green energy, helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lowers energy consumption. By enabling the clean use of energy, it makes a substantial contribution to the nation’s “energy conservation and emissions reduction” initiatives.
Since its inception, Talesun Photovoltaic has placed great emphasis on intellectual property investment.
