Talesun Photovoltaic has successfully passed the comprehensive acceptance review of its Advanced Technology Research Institute!

On the afternoon of August 16, 2021, an assessment team comprising leaders from the Changshu Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Changshu Municipal Bureau of Finance, the Changshu Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the Changshu Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Changshu Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Changshu Municipal Market Supervision Administration, and the Talent Office of the Organization Department of the Changshu Municipal Party Committee, accompanied by officials from the Shajiabang Town Government and Zhongli Technology Group, conducted a review and acceptance of the 2021 construction progress of Talesun Photovoltaic’s “Advanced Research Institute for High-Efficiency Intelligent Photovoltaics and Multifunctional Complementary Technologies.” The event concluded successfully.

Qian Hongqiang, Assistant to the Director of the Talesun Photovoltaic Advanced Intelligent Photovoltaic and Multifunctional Complementary Technology Research Institute, presented an overview of the institute’s 2021 development progress and its five-year achievements. The evaluation panel fully commended the institute’s construction efforts and its scientific and technological breakthroughs, while offering valuable recommendations and expressing high expectations for its future growth. Leaders of Zhongli Technology Group and Talesun Photovoltaic extended their heartfelt gratitude to the relevant authorities for their insightful guidance and robust support, and outlined clear plans and a well-defined roadmap for the institute’s continued advancement, particularly in the ongoing pursuit of technological innovation.

The Advanced Technology Research Institutes of Suzhou’s leading and flagship enterprises are established in accordance with the guiding principles set forth in the “Several Measures for Building an Advanced Manufacturing Base” and the “Implementation Opinions of Suzhou Municipality on Encouraging Leading and Flagship Enterprises to Set Up Advanced Technology Research Institutes.” These initiatives aim to motivate local Suzhou companies to vigorously advance technological innovation and industrial upgrading, deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy, fully carry out the “Suzhou Implementation Outline for Made in China 2025,” and proactively explore institutional and mechanism innovations. By doing so, they seek to enable Suzhou’s leading and flagship enterprises to assume a pioneering role within the province’s broader innovation landscape, highlight original, breakthrough achievements in independent innovation, and, on the basis of comprehensively elevating their innovation capacity, cultivate iconic brands that propel “Made in Suzhou” toward “Created in Suzhou.” At the same time, these efforts are designed to invigorate the sustained innovation and creativity of Suzhou’s leading and flagship enterprises, centering on cutting-edge industrial research and prioritizing the commercialization of critical, game-changing technologies. By assuming a leading, exemplary role, they will optimize and integrate industry‑specific strengths and diversified innovation resources, thereby spurring the enthusiasm and creativity of diverse innovation actors and fully leveraging the supporting and guiding power of scientific and technological advancement for economic and social development. Furthermore, they will explore new mechanisms for autonomous, collaborative, and open innovation tailored to Suzhou’s pillar industries, seamlessly connecting the innovation chain, the industrial chain, and the broader innovation ecosystem, with the goal of transforming Suzhou’s core industrial competitiveness from technology importation to indigenous technological origination.

In 2017, Suzhou Talesun Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully approved as one of the first batch of advanced technology research institutes under the Suzhou City’s Independent Brand Large Enterprise Program. Over five years of continuous development, the institute has achieved substantial progress in hardware and software infrastructure, financial support, innovation platforms, innovative business models, personnel deployment, industry–university–research collaboration, and the commercialization of research outcomes, reaching an industry‑leading level. During this five‑year period, through both independent R&D and collaborative projects with key domestic and international universities and research institutions, the institute developed a total of 25 new products and obtained 14 provincial-level appraisals for new technologies and products—two at the international advanced level, eleven at the domestic leading level, and one at the domestic advanced level. It filed 291 patent applications, including 166 invention patents and 8 PCT international patents, and was granted 51 authorized invention patents. The institute also participated in the drafting of 45 international, national, and industry technical standards. Additionally, it received two China Patent Excellence Awards and a third‑class Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award, ensuring that the company’s core technological products consistently maintain a top‑tier position in the industry.
