Savion is one of the largest and most technologically advanced developers of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the United States, and it is part of Green Investment Group, the world’s first green investment bank.
The project has a total installed capacity of 260 MW and is located in Brazoria County, approximately 40 miles southwest of Houston, Texas’s largest city. Construction officially commenced in the second quarter of 2021, with completion and commercial operation expected in the third quarter of 2022. The green solar power generated annually by the Texas project will be sufficient to meet the electricity needs of at least 37,000 Texas households.
S&B USA, a subsidiary of Shikun & Binui, a globally leading infrastructure and real estate company, recently announced that it has acquired all development rights to the Texas project from Savion. Macquarie Group, a global financial conglomerate offering banking, finance, advisory, and fund management services and the parent company of Green Investment Group, is providing tax-equity financing for the Texas project.
