The 2019 Renewable Energy India Exhibition (REI) was held from September 18 to 20 at the Greater Noida Exhibition Centre in India. As a major exporter of photovoltaic products to India, Talesun Photovoltaic showcased three high-efficiency module models at the event. Now in its 12th edition, the exhibition has become the largest international trade show for renewable energy in India and throughout South Asia.

Talesun Photovoltaic has been deeply rooted in the Indian market for many years. To date, it has cumulatively exported over 1.5 GW of solar modules to India and enjoys significant influence and brand recognition there, attracting numerous key clients—including local and globally renowned large-scale power‑plant developers such as SoftBank, EDF, Hero Future, and Sprng Energy. Several preliminary order agreements were secured on-site. At this exhibition, Talesun showcased three module models tailored to the Indian market: the BISTAR TP6H72P, the BISTAR TP6H72M, and the BIPRO TD6E72M.
BISTAR TP6H72P half-cell polycrystalline module, with a maximum power output of 355 W. India is a price‑sensitive market; polycrystalline modules offer lower cost per watt and exhibit more favorable annual power degradation compared to monocrystalline modules, which is why they remain the mainstream choice in the Indian market.
BISTAR TP7H72M half-cell monocrystalline PERC modules deliver a maximum power output of 405 W. As global demand for monocrystalline products continues to grow and PERC technology matures, the cost gap between monocrystalline and polycrystalline modules is narrowing. In India, many solar power plants have already begun adopting monocrystalline PERC modules. This product not only meets the needs of high‑quality local customers but also aims to help boost market demand for monocrystalline solutions in India.
The BIPRO TD6E72M is a bifacial, double-glass monocrystalline PERC module with 72 cells, delivering a maximum power output of 400 W. With up to 25% additional power generation from the rear side, its overall bifacial output can reach as high as 500 W. This product effectively reduces the levelized cost of electricity and is particularly well-suited to India’s climatic conditions.
As one of the world’s top three photovoltaic markets, India is expected to exceed 10 GW in installed capacity in 2019. With Moody’s securing re-election following the general election, market demand is likely to remain robust. Meanwhile, after implementing a year-long safeguard duty, India will reduce its tariff rate this year from 25% to 20%. In comparison, China’s cost advantages in module manufacturing will become more pronounced, leading to a rise in the share of modules imported from China. Looking ahead, Talesun will continue to cultivate high‑quality customers in the Indian market, thereby reinforcing its competitive position.
