During the conference, outstanding enterprises, individuals, innovative technologies, and high-quality products that distinguished themselves in China’s energy sector in 2019 were honored. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to advancing the energy transition and to poverty alleviation through photovoltaic projects, Wang Baixing, Chairman of the Board of Zhongli Group, was awarded the “2019 China Energy Person of the Year” prize. During the forum’s keynote session, Talesun Photovoltaic delivered a keynote address titled “Innovative Application Models of ‘Smart PV + Tech‑Driven Agriculture’ to Foster Integrated Industrial Development,” comprehensively showcasing Zhongli Group’s groundbreaking achievements in the agrivoltaics sector to the attendees.
With the advent of the grid‑parity era, Zhongli Group has pioneered an innovative “smart photovoltaics + tech‑driven agriculture” agrivoltaic model, securing more than 30 international and domestic invention patents and filling a significant gap in both domestic and global markets. This project incorporates several groundbreaking measures: raising photovoltaic mounting structures to over 4 meters, widening the spacing between support piles to more than 10 meters, and employing single‑panel module installation and optimized tilt angles. These innovations not only accommodate large‑scale mechanized farming but also ensure adequate solar irradiation for crops growing beneath the panels. Under this innovative framework, PV deployment does not alter the agricultural land’s designated use, overcoming land‑use constraints and enabling the efficient, synergistic coexistence of agriculture and solar power. As a result, land utilization and overall economic returns are enhanced, providing strong momentum for accelerating agrivoltaic projects toward a subsidy‑free, grid‑parity future.
Meanwhile, thanks to its years of technological innovation and exemplary contributions in the agrivoltaics sector, Zhongli Group has also been honored with numerous accolades, including “Smart Photovoltaic Demonstration Enterprise,” “Photovoltaic Technology Leader,” and the “China Energy Enterprise Innovation and Responsibility Award.”
