On March 18, 2019, at the Poverty Alleviation Conference in Shanyang County, Shaanxi Province, the local county government awarded Zhongli Group the honor of “Advanced Enterprise in the Three‑Pronged Approach and Three Innovations,” recognizing the company’s contributions over the past two years in helping 9,159 impoverished households across 129 villages achieve targeted poverty alleviation, thereby opening new avenues for local poverty‑reduction efforts.
Shanyang County is located in Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, within the contiguous, severely impoverished area of the Qinba Mountains. It is a key county for national poverty alleviation and development efforts, as well as a former revolutionary base area, and one of the province’s 11 counties designated as being in deep poverty. To ensure sustainable poverty reduction, with strong support from the local government, Zhongli Group signed an EPC general contracting agreement with Shanyang County in 2017 to assist in developing a “poverty‑stricken village photovoltaic farm” with a total installed capacity of 28.29 MW, which has now been fully commissioned and connected to the grid.
At present, photovoltaic‑based poverty alleviation has become a key strategy for industrial development and for securing victory in the battle against poverty. The “Poverty‑Stricken Village Photovoltaic Farms” built by Zhongli Group have already helped more than 800,000 impoverished people in 73 poverty‑stricken counties nationwide to escape poverty. In response to the national goal of achieving comprehensive poverty eradication by 2020, Zhongli Group will continue to advance village‑level photovoltaic poverty‑alleviation projects, with plans to expand coverage to 200 poverty‑stricken counties and 15,000 impoverished villages, benefiting even more impoverished populations and making a fresh contribution to the country’s fight against poverty.
