The InterSolar South America solar photovoltaic exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil, is the largest and most popular solar technology trade show in South America, focusing on solar photovoltaic and thermal technologies. The event brings together numerous internationally renowned PV companies committed to advancing renewable energy and clean technologies, providing a vital platform for professionals in the global solar PV industry to connect and exchange ideas.
As Latin America’s largest economy, Brazil also boasts the region’s highest installed capacity for photovoltaic power. Benefiting from one of the highest levels of solar irradiance in the world, and driven by a range of incentives and supportive policies, Brazil has seen its PV market flourish thanks to rapid growth in installed capacity and robust demand, making it the most promising PV market in Latin America.
As of the end of 2022, solar power generation had become Brazil’s second-largest source of electricity, ranking just behind hydropower. According to the Brazilian Energy Research Agency (EPE)’s Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan, by 2030 Brazil’s total installed capacity is expected to reach approximately 224.3 GW, with 50% of the新增 installed capacity coming from new‑energy sources. Among these, solar power is projected to experience the largest growth and the fastest expansion rate.
