Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology released the 2015 list of National Torch Program projects. The project “Research and Development and Industrialization of N-Type Bifacial Solar Cells and Their Double-Glass Modules,” recommended by the Changshu Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and undertaken by Zhongli Talesun Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd., has been approved as a National Torch Program project.

The National Torch Program project is a high‑tech industrialization initiative that is market‑driven, drawing on national, regional, and sectoral scientific‑technological breakthroughs, cutting‑edge R&D achievements, and other research outcomes. With the goal of developing advanced technological products and establishing related industries, it selects and implements projects based on merit. This particular project builds on technological advances in n‑type bifacial cell doping, surface passivation, metallization, and double‑glass module fabrication, streamlining the manufacturing process for n‑type bifacial cells, reducing the production costs of their double‑glass modules, and enabling the industrial-scale deployment of these technologies. Successful implementation of this project will facilitate the technological upgrade from conventional p‑type crystalline silicon to high‑efficiency n‑type crystalline silicon, enhance the company’s innovation capacity and product development capabilities, advance crystalline silicon photovoltaic technology, and accelerate the transition toward grid parity for solar PV power. The company’s receipt of the 2015 National Torch Program designation is a comprehensive reflection of its technical innovation prowess and R&D strength, helping it leverage the proprietary intellectual property advantages of its flagship products and bolster its core competitiveness. Moving forward, Zhongli Talesun will continue to increase R&D investment, strengthen its technological innovation capabilities, and consistently develop new products aligned with domestic and international market demands and emerging trends. By doing so, the company will remain dynamic, leading the industry in the development of high‑efficiency photovoltaic cells, power plants, and PV‑based energy systems, as well as in talent cultivation, thereby reinforcing its competitive edge both at home and abroad.
